WOMEN OF WALSALL- SOROPTIMISTS CLUB WAS CHARTERED IN 1940. ( Soroptimist is Latin and means "best for women" ) a volunteer service organization for women who work to improve the lives of women and girls, in local communities and throughout the world. The founder President was Miss Mollie Orgill. We are a small Walsall club of around 30 members, looking to increase our membership. Over the years the organisation has evolved, for example in Walsall, our club members include voluntary workers, school governors and women from the retail trade who meet twice a month at Calderfields Golf club, Aldridge, on the 1st Wednesday of the month for dinner meetings and the 3rd Wednesday of the month for business meetings.
The organisation is committed to helping local, national and international communities through our Programme Action Projects. We have a fun social calendar including links with other clubs. Our club is based on working together as a team to promote the aims and objectives of soroptimism and whilst doing so enjoying the friendship and the fun of our fellow members and soroptimists from around the world. Potential new members are welcome to join our dinner meeting on the 1st Wednesday of each month, call our membership secretary Jane Perham on 01922 640221

Aldridge Rugby Football Club Ground Address. Bourne Vale, Little Hardwick Road,Aldridge, Walsall, Staffs. WS9 0SH Tel:- (0121) 353 2856.
Aldridge Rugby Football Club was formed in 1998 from an amalgamation of Witton and Old Centrals.
The Witton Club goes back to 1922 and was originally the Works rugby side of GEC. Old Centrals was formed in 1913 from the former pupils of Central Secondary School as it was then known but latterly Central Grammar School and then Byng Kenrick Central School. Since the demise of rugby at Central, the Old Boys club found it increasingly difficult to attract players from outside into the club and by 1997 were struggling to fulfill their fixtures. At the same time Witton were about to lose their rented ground to university development. Talks got underway and the merger was forged in 1998.
The ARF club is based on the former Old Centrals sports ground at Aldridge and currently plays in Midlands 6 West (North) fielding three senior sides.
The club is always keen to recruit new players of any shape, age or ability.
