North Aldridge Neighbourhood watch works hard to provide information, support and advice to local residents and has achieved real results acknowledged by Aldridge police. North Aldridge Neighbourhood watch has a very good membership and actively encourages more Aldridge residents to join and discover not only how to benefit from the added community safety and security but also the pioneering work of the "Leighswood Project" in June 2007 with schools which may be adopted nationally, read more about North Aldridge neighbourhood Watch

The Aldridge Fayre 2007 will be held at Anchor Meadow on Saturday 23rd June, starting at 11:00am. ...postponed, and now re-arranged for 11th August 2007.

John Butler, Aldridge Lions, Fayre Co-ordinator, added the following update.
With the Aldridge Fayre being cancelled on Saturday, the Aldridge & District Lions members were in Aldridge town centre to draw the winners for their grand raffle and to hand out leaflets advising the public of the new date for the Fayre - Saturday 11th August at 11:00am.

For the draw, the Lions had music provided by the New Washboard Syncopators Jazz Band to entertain the shoppers during the day. They were originally booked to play at the Fayre but transferred to the precinct event at the last moment.

The Worshipful, The Mayor of Walsall, Councillor Melvin Pitt, made the draw for the winning tickets in the grand draw and also presented a cheque for 1000 on behalf of the Aldridge Lions to Martine Grainger for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust. The Trust was the charity chosen by the Lions for their major cause for the past year. Several thousand pounds is raised each year by the Lions and goes to many charities and good causes both locally, nationally and internationally - wherever there is a need.

The afternoon was rounded off by an excellent display from a Mk 9 Spitfire from the RAF Battle of Britain Memorial flight piloted by Group Captain Atha. Three low level passes were made over the centre of Aldridge to the great delight of those below.
