First Week

Sunday March 2nd Walsall Group of Advanced Motorists.
The Walsall Group has been established in Walsall for many years and has enabled hundreds of motorists, of all ages, to improve their driving skills and pass their I.A.M. Advanced Driving Test. Our friendly group, which is manned by fully qualified volunteers, meets at Aldridge Community Centre on the first Sunday of every month at 9.30 a.m. If you would like to enjoy driving more, make yourself a safer driver, drive more economically and have the opportunity of discounted motor insurance, discounted AA and RAC membership and lots more, then come and meet us. Our next Institute of Advanced Motorists course starts on March 2nd, please ring us for full details of how to join.

Thursday 6th March PROUD 2008 Statementing Conference
PROUD are delighted to announce that we are holding a Statementing conference. This will be taking place on Thursday 6th March at Leighswood Childrens Centre, Broadmeadow ( off Leighswood Avenue ) Aldridge, Walsall WS9 8FY 9.45 til 3pm Our speaker will be Jane McConnell who works for IPSEA ( Independant Panel of Special Needs Educational Advice ) and is an advisor to the Down???s syndrome association ( DSA ) She has come highly recommended. Saturday 8th March champagne breakfast Barons Court Ticket event costs ???10 and are available by calling Andy & Karen Cockbill on 07989 612782 to raise funds for thier teenage son Ryan Cockbill who was paralysed when he broke his neck in a swimming pool accident in July 2006. Ryan was just 16 at the time of the accident when he sustained a compression fracture of his fifth and cervical vertebrae, causing paralysis from the chest down. Andy and Karen set up a trust fund to buy adaptations to the Cockbill family home in Aldridge.

9th March 2008 St. Thomas Church, Aldridge starts with a Tearfund Service at 11.00 followed by a Fairtrade shop opening for people to buy and try Fairtrade products this shop will also be open at 4.00 till 5.00 on the same afternoon organised by Janet Berrill, Tearfund/Fairtrade Campaigner

Saturday March 22nd Aston Villa supporters Av5 Bus Service AV5 provided by Travel West Midlands will pick-up at Aldridge's Elms pub two hours before kick-off before stopping at the Hardwick Arms, followed by Compton Road bus stop, opposite Farmer John's pub. The drop off location will be outside Villa Park. The bus will then collect passengers 300 yards up from the Holte pub in Witton Lane, 30 minutes after the game, and return travellers to their original stops. The price of a Villa Special return is ???3.00 (no concessions). We advise fans to pre-book their seat by contacting the consumer sales department on 0800 612 0970.
