Monday PROUD Dance Classes, 4.30 – 5.30pm At Tynings Lane Church
Tynings Lane, Aldridge, WS9 0AS. Every Monday evening during school term time only. The classes are for children of Reception age upwards and last an hour proving fun in an informal setting and they are introducing children to a selection of Musical tastes and dances. Emma who runs the dance classes, teaches at the local school and has her own dance academy and she has had lots of experience with children with special needs having done work for MENCAP. These classes are totally FREE to children with Down’s syndrome and their siblings or just £2 for per child. Email jo@proudwalsall.org or text or phone 07951019506 to book a place.

Friday Walsall Handspinners meet every Friday evening from 7.30pm to 9.30pm at the Anchorage Club ( opposite the Community Centre) in Aldridge. A friendly and informal group of all ages who share their skills and interests in working with any type of fibre including wool, silk, cotton, dog hair, cashmere, angora, linen and man made fibres.

First Sunday of each month, Walsall Group of Advanced Motorists.
The Walsall Group has been established in Walsall for many years and has enabled hundreds of motorists, of all ages, to improve their driving skills and pass their I.A.M. Advanced Driving Test. Our friendly group, which is manned by fully qualified volunteers, meets at Aldridge Community Centre on the first Sunday of every month at 9.30 a.m. If you would like to enjoy driving more, make yourself a safer driver, drive more economically and have the opportunity of discounted motor insurance, discounted AA and RAC membership and lots more, then come and meet us. contact us about our next Institute of Advanced Motorists course, please ring us for full details of how to join.

Friday 13th November Wine Tasting Evening Heart Care ( Walsall Cardiac Rehabilitation Unit) are holding a Wine Tasting Evening to raise funds for our unit in Portland Street Walsall. The event will be hosted by wine expert Rob Price from The Birmingham Wine School and starts at 7.30p.m. We will be tasting wines from around the world and it promises to be a fun and informative evening. Tickets are £10.00 and this includes all wine and nibbles. The tasting will take place at Heartcare Portland St Walsall WS2 8AB. Saturday 14th November Bliss Yoga is having an event at Leigh Road Church, off Mellish Road, Walsall, WS4 2EN. The session is called 'Treat yourself to a morning of stress relief and relaxation' 10am - 1pm. We will be exploring yoga, movement, breathing and relaxation and costs £12. Prior booking essential.

Saturday 5 December Guinness World Record attempt in Aldridge
Countryside rangers at Walsall Council will be digging in to support a world record tree planting event in Aldridge. BBC Breathing Spaces has organised Tree O’Clock as part of national tree plant week. It is a world record attempt to plant the most trees in one hour and those taking part will be emailing photographic evidence of their efforts to the BBC. The local part of this World record attempt will take place on Saturday 5 December between 11am and 12 noon at Aldridge Airfield, off Bosty Lane, where we will be planting 200 hazel trees in the coppice woodland. Senior countryside ranger Nige Curnow, said: “Anyone can get involved – through an organisation, school or community group – and it would be fantastic to break a world record. “So far there are pledges to plant 263,669 trees across 67 counties and Walsall is playing an important part in this record bid. “The countryside will be all the richer for it too.” For details of how to get involved please contact Nige Curnow on 01922 459813.

Every year Santa visits Chasewater Railway during December. His Grotto is located in the Heritage Centre at Brownhills West Railway Station where he invites you to come along and see him. Why not come along and join in the fun and experience the festive atmosphere on the Colliery Line your local historic heritage railway?
