Monday PROUD Dance Classes, 4.30 � 5.30pm At Tynings Lane Church
Tynings Lane, Aldridge, WS9 0AS. Every Monday evening during school term time only. The classes are for children of Reception age upwards and last an hour proving fun in an informal setting and they are introducing children to a selection of Musical tastes and dances. Emma who runs the dance classes, teaches at the local school and has her own dance academy and she has had lots of experience with children with special needs having done work for MENCAP. Every Tuesday "Eye Clinic" between 10am and 2pm at the Walsall Centre for Independent Living in Bridge Street, Walsall, Janet Porter, Eye Clinic liaison officer, will be on hand to offer emotional support, information on various visual impairments such as macular degeneration, diabetes and cataracts and advice on equipment and other services to help people experiencing sight loss to stay independent. call 01922 627683 or 01922 650790 for more info or an appointment time.

First Wednesday of each month, Age Concern Walsall, Advocacy Service,holds a surgery at the Walsall Centre for Independent Living in Bridge Street, Walsall to help residents aged 18 or more with physical, sensory impairment or a mental health issues gain access to information and services, write letters, or attend meetings plus a range of other assistance. Thursday Ballroom / Latin dancing classes held at Queen Mary's Grammar School Sutton Road, Walsall, West Midlands, WS1 2PG. The beginner's class starts at 7pm but the dance school caters for all standards. It's a really friendly class and we have loads of fun as well as learning new skills. Friday Walsall Handspinners meet every Friday evening from 7.30pm to 9.30pm at the Anchorage Club ( opposite the Community Centre) in Aldridge. A friendly and informal group of all ages who share their skills and interests in working with any type of fibre including wool, silk, cotton, dog hair, cashmere, angora, linen and man made fibres.

First Sunday of each month, Walsall Group of Advanced Motorists.
The Walsall Group has been established in Walsall for many years and has enabled hundreds of motorists, of all ages, to improve their driving skills and pass their I.A.M. Advanced Driving Test. Our friendly group, which is manned by fully qualified volunteers, meets at Aldridge Community Centre on the first Sunday of every month at 9.30 a.m. If you would like to enjoy driving more, make yourself a safer driver, drive more economically and have the opportunity of discounted motor insurance, discounted AA and RAC membership and lots more, then come and meet us. contact us about our next Institute of Advanced Motorists course, please ring us for full details of how to join.

Saturday 10 April Aldridge Spring Market Bag a bargain at Aldridge Spring Market More than 30 stalls will set out their wares at Aldridge Spring Market with face painting and an Easter egg trail adding to the seasonal delight. Special outdoor living and garden stalls will be on offer at the market which is being held on Saturday 10 April from 9am until 5pm at Aldridge Shopping Centre in Anchor Road. Walsall Council and Aldridge Village Business Partnership have organised the event which was a huge success last year, attracting visitors and shoppers of all ages. The market is supported by the village's 70 local shops and businesses and is another example of the council's district centre management team's commitment to the promotion of district centres.

Free...Green-fingered Garden Day Event for everyone in Walsall at Walsall Arboretum on the 1st May 2010. Walsall Arboretum Garden Volunteers Jackie Cocken and Jo Lester are staging an event 'Traditional Country Crafts - How we used to live' in the Arboretum extension alongside the Woodland Wildlife Learning Garden on Saturday 1 May 2010 between 2pm and 4pm. Jackie and Jo are both retired teachers who taught at Blackwood School in Streetly and now encourage young people and school groups to visit their garden at their Arboretum. A wide variety of skills will be demonstrated at the event including basket weaving, spoon making, hurdle making, woodcarving, blacksmithing and spinning and weaving. In addition to this there will be a 'get planting' stall where gardening advice will be available as well as plants for sale. The "Museum on the Move" bus will be on site, and staff from Walsall Leather Museum will contribute to the activities. Not only is this event FREE OF CHARGE, but children will be given a free Lucky Dip for a PRIZE. It should be an afternoon experience not to be missed of interest to all age groups. FREE PARKING will be available at the Grange Car Park Broadway North which is approximately 150 metres from the event. Meanwhile the Woodland Wildlife Learning Garden is looking particularly attractive at this time. It is usually open at weekend afternoons. For further information ring Jackie Cocken on 01922 627354.
