Midland Fertility Services (MFS) is the Midlands’ longest established independent fertility clinic providing treatments to both NHS and private patients. Located in Aldridge, near Birmingham approx 10 miles distance, with regular open days to allow visitors to discuss the services and facilities offered.
Free open evenings about current treatments and how to get treated at MFS as either a private or NHS-funded patient. An informal way for people to learn more about fertility options, whether they have initial concerns about conceiving or if they have already seen their GP or consultant. New Extra Care Housing Scheme Opens in Aldridge
You may have noticed the new building that has been developed on the Northgate in Aldridge? It is just opposite Focus do it All. It is an extra care scheme for older people aged over 55+ and has been developed by Housing 21 in partnership with Walsall Council.

Housing 21 is a major provider of housing and care for older people, and they were selected to work with Walsall Council to transform the lives of older people across the borough through quality housing, care and support.

They will provide 351 new homes that will include the development of five new extra care schemes and a specialist unit for people with dementia as well as an intermediate rehabilitation service.

Housing 21 is a national, not for profit specialist housing association that has worked with older people for over 40 years. They have around 16,000 sheltered and extra care apartments making them the second largest specialist housing association for older people.

Extra care housing provides residents with their own home in a communal scheme where 24 hour care and support services are available should they need them. Properties are in self-contained apartments, built around communal areas which are called Courts.

Each apartment provides residents with their own front door, fully fitted kitchens including oven and hob, walk in showers, non slip flooring in kitchens and bathrooms, full central heating and emergency alarm system.

Alrewych Court, 220 Northgate, Aldridge, WS9 8AF will be open for the first tenants to move in from 21st September 2009. The development comprises 53 one and two bedroom apartments, 40 of which will be rented and 13 will be available for shared ownership purchase. There are a wide range of facilities on the development which will include a restaurant, hairdressing salon and shop. Alrewych Court has a full time Court Manager and staff on site 24 hours per day, and will provide residents with good quality, spacious self contained apartments. All apartments are provided with under-floor gas central heating, carpet provided to hall, lounge and bedrooms.
