| Aldridge Village Business Partnership Walsall, WS9, West Midlands UK. The Vision to make Aldridge a better place. Walsall Council is committed to creating competitive and vibrant centres for those people who live, work and visit the borough and it has pledged to support its key district centres in order to help communications with existing and new businesses. As part of this approach, a District Centre Manager has been appointed to support the development of Aldridge. The role will predominately focus on developing a town centre management style approach encouraging representation from a cross section of individuals who have an interest in Aldridge. Partnerships to support the management and development of Aldridge district centre in Walsall have been launched. The partnership will meet every 6 – 8 weeks and the group is made up of a cross section of representatives from Walsall Council, National Retailers, Local Retailers, Market Traders, Shopping Centres, Landlords, Professional and Financial Services, the Police, Housing Associations, Community Groups and Local Neighbourhood Partnerships. The Aldridge Village Business Partnership was launched in september 2007 and over the coming months the partnerships will capture the views and concerns of stakeholders operating in Aldridge through a business audit. The issues and priorities raised will form the basis of an action plan which the partnerships will focus on delivering over the coming year. Aldridge partnership will govern what items are discussed at meetings and what action they wish to focus on. Particular activities are likely to include marketing and promotion, events, enhancing the street scene, schemes to help reduce business crime and schemes to encourage inward investment. In order to fund some of these the initiatives the partnership may explore the potential of a membership fee scheme.
