Talking Pictures Aldridge, Walsall, WS9, West Midlands UK. Disabled Artists Group in Aldridge
TALKING PICTURES
‘THEIR FINEST HOURS’
The aim of the Talking Pictures Group is to promote disability arts amongst the general public and, given that the exhibition runs until April 2008 and the Museum has huge visitor numbers, this is a tremendous opportunity for them to realize their ambitions. Semba has published two volumes of his work; ‘Chapters in Life’ and ‘Sweet and bitter twisted’. He has broadcast widely and was ‘Artist in Residence’ at the Ikon Gallery in Birmingham in 2000. In 1996 he was awarded the ‘Editor’s Choice’ by the International Society of Poets. Clifford has exhibited and lectured widely during the forty plus years that he has been an active photographer. He is a Fellow of the Royal Photographic Society and in 1981 was awarded their prestigious Fenton Medal. He raised considerable funds for a lift for disabled people at the Octagon in Bath and also for the Disabled Photographers Society who help to adapt equipment for disabled people including those who are partially sighted. The Royal Air Force Museum is just one mile from Junction 3 of the M54 and there is free admission and parking. There is much more to see in addition to the exhibition making it well worth a long visit and disabled access is very good. The Museum is open daily from 10 till 6 (last admission 4pm). For further details please telephone the RAF Museum on 01902 376200 or Email Talking Pictures
