    Rosie's Walk
    Written contribution by Karen Ross.
    Rosie's Helping Hands
    Reg. Charity No 1097278
The charity is based in Aldridge where we have lived for many years it came about by tragic circumstances when we lost our 16 year old daughter Rosie Ross, who was fatally stabbed in a random and motiveless attack whilst relaxing in Centenary Square Birmingham on a Saturday afternoon in 2001.

The charity raises money to benefit local children and young people as well as providing equipment and training for Walsall Manor Hospital and Birmingham?s City Hospital Accident and Emergency departments. The University of Birmingham, Cancer Studies department also benefits from donations for equipment.

Our largest fundraiser is Rosie's Walk which began as a sponsored walk in remembrance of Rosie. It has grown over the years to become a popular afternoon of entertainment and activities for all ages. Apart from being a fundraiser we also view it as our way of saying ?Thank You? to the community of Aldridge for their continuous kindness and support which has helped us enormously in our ability to cope with our loss.

Many, many local people of all ages have benefited from donations the charity has given out to various groups, individuals, hospitals and Cancer Studies. We keep in touch with some and it is wonderful to see how small amounts of money can make a vast difference to a group or someone's life and well being. Please visit our website for more information at
